A machine is right for the daily grind. It is the wrong tool for the one day that actually matters - a client visit, a launch, a milestone worth marking properly.

An in-house machine is the right tool for a Tuesday. It is not the right tool for the day a major client visits, the day you launch internally, or the day the board is in the building. Self-serve pod coffee does not read as hospitality, and asking someone from the team to play barista pulls them away from the actual event.
UNIT is booked by offices for exactly these moments: client days, product launches, all-hands meetings, investor visits, company milestones. A staffed bar signals that the day has been taken seriously without requiring anyone in the office to manage catering on top of their actual job.
The obvious difference is a trained barista instead of self-serve. The less obvious difference is consistency - a bean-to-cup or pod machine varies with how well it is maintained day to day, while UNIT arrives with a serviced La Marzocco and someone dialling it in fresh for the event. There is also nothing for the office facilities team to clean, restock or troubleshoot afterwards.
It also removes a genuine limitation of most office machines: no hydration menu. Cold pressed juices, matcha and health shots run from the same staffed bar, useful for wellness-conscious client days or summer events, without adding a second supplier to manage.
Most office bookings are single events with no ongoing commitment - book the date, confirm guest numbers, done. Some clients set up a recurring pattern instead: quarterly town halls, monthly client days, a standing booking around board meetings. Both work the same way operationally, and there is no long-term contract required to book more than once.
For corporate events with a branding requirement - a launch that needs the coffee cups to carry company colours, for example - the same lead times apply as any other branded booking: 2-3 weeks minimum from artwork sign-off.
Questions
Office coffee bar hire vs an in-house machine - when one-off event hire makes more sense than a permanent setup for client days and office events.
